What does POM do?

Currently there are five different national crop inventories in process:

• fruit trees and berries
• perennial ornamentals
• ornamental bulbs and tubers
• roses
• ornamental trees and bushes

An inventory of historic vegetable and flower seed was also carried out during 2002-2003.

POM's main tasks include the following:

• inventory, collection and conservation of cultivated plants
• increasing the use of cultivated plants
• organizing and carrying out research on cultivated plants
• information and capacity building
• international collaboration
