Report from workshop
"Diversity in Gardens Around the Baltic Sea"
13-14 September 2007
Altogether 46 participants from countries around the Baltic Sea (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden) gathered during two sunny September days in Eastern Scania (Österlen) to enjoy and discuss garden diversity. The meeting was arranged by POM, the Swedish national programme for diversity of cultivated plants, and a local network of garden enthousiasts 'Trädgården som livsrum - Blickpunkt Österlen'. The Baltic Sea Unit of Sida generously provided financial support. The purpose of the meeting was threefold: to establish new networks or reinforce previous ones, and identify small and concrete cooperative projects. A number of such activities were also decided and will be followed up as they develop. Updated information will be provided continuously on the POM website.
